Enjoy the Volkswagen GTI Roadster concept car at Goodwood
Things are about to get real - in a digital kind of way at least - in the world of Volkswagen concept vehicles.
At this year's upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, which no sane car lover should miss, the German car manufacturer will have the smoking-hot GTI Roadster Concept car on display - the very first time UK audiences will have the privilege of seeing this magical machine up close. The festival runs from 26th to 29th June.
Viewing the car up close is not all you will be able to do at the 2014 Goodwood festival. This year Volkswagen fans will also get the opportunity to drive this remarkable concept vehicle up the famous - or perhaps notorious - hill-climb course.
This will be in the digital universe of Grand Turismo 6, of course, on a virtual recreation of the Goodwood hill-climb.
It would have been a lot cooler had the company offered the opportunity to drive the actual car up this renowned hill, but it is understandable that Volkswagen can't trust amateur speed fanatics with such an expensive piece of machinery.
The actual car pushes out no less than 496bhp (503PS) and 560Nm of torque (413 pound-feet) from its feisty V6 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine via a DSG transmission driving all four wheels. Digital or real, this brand new topless Volkswagen is sure to be great fun to take up the hill.
