Land Rover celebrates a milestone

There is great news from luxury British car manufacturer Land Rover: it has recently built its six millionth vehicle. The milestone car that celebrates this huge achievement is now on display at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, which ends on the 29th of this month.

The car in question is a Range Rover LWB Vogue SE. Constructed on 2nd April 2015, the landmark vehicle has been given a unique puddle lamp graphic, which is one of a kind and will only be seen on this Yulong White car. The group sales operations director for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Andy Goss, said: "For 67 years Land Rover has been building the world's most capable all-purpose vehicles. It's fitting that the 6,000,000th Land Rover to be produced is a Range Rover, since this year marks the 45th anniversary of the original Range Rover's launch and even today the vehicle remains peerless. With the growth of sales in China since the latest version of the Range Rover was introduced in 2012, it is entirely appropriate that this landmark vehicle is destined for a Chinese customer."

The six million vehicles produced by JLR include 900,000 Range Rovers; of this figure, two million have been manufactured over the last eight years. The first Land Rover was constructed in 1948 and the first motor show the company displayed this model at was in 1948 in Holland. The three million landmark was reached in 2001.
