Excellent sales figures for Land Rover
The UK's premier producer of luxury cars, Jaguar Land Rover, has reported record-breaking sales figures for April 2014. The company is one of Britain's biggest exporters, with around 85% of its sales being overseas.
Land Rover sold a total of 31,660 units in April, which is an increase of 33% from the same month last year. Record sales were seen for all three Range Rover models, with the Sport having its best April for sales since 2006.
Land Rover has seen sales increase in the last month in all sales regions. These include China, which went up by 72%, and a 31% increase in Asia Pacific. Europe and North America both had substantial increases of 29% and 28% respectively. Results in the UK showed a healthy increase in sales for April of 27%, with other overseas markets increasing by 4%.
The operations director of Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales, Andy Goss, said: "April sales continue the positive momentum we saw in the first quarter of 2014. Alongside the F-TYPE, all three Range Rover models delivered record April sales performances reflecting the global appeal of our strongest-ever vehicle line-up."
The figures for 2014 reveal that Land Rover has sold a total of 132,405 vehicles to date, which is an increase of 11% on the same period last year. The region with the biggest percentage increase for sales is China, which is up by 42%. Even though UK sales are down by 1%, there is growth in Asia Pacific (18%), North America, (12%) and Europe (4%).
