New video released of Land Rover SUV
The eagerly awaited debut of the Land Rover Discovery Sport has now taken place with orders being taken from January 2015. The release of a video - although it lasts less than a minute - gives an idea of what to expect of the medium-size SUV.
Though there is something enigmatic about the video teaser, it reveals without a doubt that the new Sport keeps to the successful Land Rover formula and will be luxuriously fitted out in the cabin.
The interior plan (5+2) is displayed with leather seating in white, a centre screen (high-definition), and an uncluttered centre consul, which has what can only be described as a minimalistic approach to push buttons. The video has been released after the company showed shots of the exterior last month, and highlights features such as 60:40 middle row seating and a panoramic sunroof.
Company operations director Phil Popham said: "All Land Rovers have a combination of luxury, versatility and capability. But we will dial up those attributes in different ways depending on what family you're buying into...
"Clearly Range Rover is all about luxury - they're still incredibly versatile and incredibly capable but luxury is a focus. The Discovery family will be focusing on versatility but they will still be luxury products and they'll have the capability you'd expect from a Land Rover but they will be the most versatile cars in the segments in which they compete."
The engine of the Discovery Sport will be derived from the company's new range of Ingenium 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
