Australian Police Warn Motorists Against Use of Apple Maps
When Apple launched their mapping service on a recent update to their iOS operating system it was not quite with the blaze of glory that they had hoped. The company has been inundated with complaints about the quality and accuracy of their new maps application which replaced the hugely popular Google Maps.
There have been countless reports of hugely inaccurate data and stories of motorists getting lost and even in some cases ending up in potentially dangerous situations and now one police force has taken the step of specifically warning drivers to use an alternative method of navigation.
In recent weeks the Police of Victoria, Australia have had to rescue a number of motorists who have become lost after directed into the wilderness of a national park almost 50 miles away from the city they were trying to reach, of those who became lost were left for over a day without any food or water.
