Racetrack performance figures for the new Mercedes-AMG GT
With incredible dynamics and performance statistics that would not be out of place on the racetrack, the new Mercedes-AMG GT will appeal to people who want a car to not only look fast but also to deliver.
The vice-president of design at Daimler AG, Gorden Wagener, said: "The new Mercedes-AMG GT is a sports car in its purist form. Breathtaking proportions, powerfully sculpted surfaces and flowing lines turn the new AMG into a contemporary sports car which embodies the spirit of the glorious Mercedes sports cars. The GT is a consummate combination of beauty and intelligence."
The AMG GT has all the features of a good sports car and Mercedes is positioning itself even more forcefully as a truly iconic sports car manufacturer by putting this model on the market. Performance figures are good, with acceleration powering it from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 193mph.
The car has the innovative eight-cylinder engine under the bonnet, which gives motor racing performance figures and is the newest member of the BlueDIRECT engine-line-up.
The overall design of the car is bound to turn heads, with its unmistakable AMG lines flowing along the aero-dynamic coupe design in a style that is so distinctively Mercedes.
Inside the car is the understated elegance and luxury you would expect from the brand, with a matt silver fibreglass trim and the Interior Black Diamond package giving it a truly sophisticated and unique appearance.
