The BMW Coupe with four doors

The BMW 640d Gran Coupe has four doors. Technically it is not a coupe at all; however, with somewhat cramped rear seats, it could be argued that two of these doors are not needed. The 640d is not the type of car for transporting the family, but it is a terrific tourer for two people.

As with all other new BMW models, the car comes with ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. There is a comfort mode that does a pretty good job of getting rid of the bumps on most road surfaces; however, if you are not satisfied, switch to the Comfort+ mode and feel like you are riding on air. Even when you are in Sport mode, the 640d delivers a smooth driving experience.

The 313hp and 464lb-ft of torque are produced by a turbodiesel 3.0-litre inline six engine, which provides a very dynamic drive despite the size of this car. This is not the sort of vehicle that has been built for 'boy racers', but it will deliver the goods on corners and, like all BMWs, will never let you down performance-wise.

The 640d Gran Coupe has an expensive feel and, even though it has two more doors than a coupe should, it says more about the driver than the car. If you buy this model, it shows that you refuse to be pigeon-holed.
