The perfect sound system for a BMW is revealed
For a company that has been at the top of the luxury motoring hierarchy for many years, the ideal sound system partner has to be very special. Over the years Bang & Olufsen (B&O) has teamed up with Aston Martin and we recently saw a B&O advanced 3D sounds system installed in the new Audi Q7i in Detroit.B&O has now revealed the "most successful model" to result from its longstanding partnership agreement with BMW. In 2010 the German car maker installed a B&O sound system in the concept 6-Series; now, the two companies have launched a limited edition 6-Series model.
This new variant will come equipped with the ultimate high-end sound system, which will have 16 active speakers delivering a maximum output of 1,200 watts. The speakers have been finished with black brushed aluminium grilles and B&O has even included two BeoPlay H6 headphones finished in the same style.
B&O and BMW say that the new high-end surround sound system has an auto adjust function as part of the vehicle's VNC (vehicle noise compensation) technology. The audio system is fitted into a cabin finished in Merino leather with a piano black wood trim.
The car's exterior has a very distinctive metallic paint job in Dark Graphite II or Brilliant White. There will be a limited run of 100 B&O models, which will be based on the 650i Gran Coupe. There will also be 10 B&O Edition models, which will be based on the M6 Gran Coupe with Competition Package.
