No more hassles finding a parking spot for your BMW
JustPark, the latest parking spot-finding application, has signed a major contract with BMW, which will make it the first app of this kind to be embedded into automotive dashboard systems.
BMW announced on Wednesday that it will install JustPark into its connected Mini vehicles in the UK, with the company planning to roll out the app to its whole range of cars later in 2014. The German luxury car manufacturer invested around £250,000 in JustPark three years ago, when the app was still known as ParkatmyHouse.
Unlike many of the similar parking-finding apps that have recently made headlines, such as Parkmodo and MoneyParking, JustPark is more about parking spaces belonging to private owners who want to make these spaces available to the public.
In the UK, where the company has until now focused its efforts, JustPark already boasts around 20,000 locations, ranging from churches and schools to commercial car parks and even private driveways. There are currently close to 100,000 parking spaces on offer.
The founder of JustPark, Anthony Eskinazi, said in a press interview: "You're approaching the high street and you want to find a parking space near your destination or where you are now. With a couple of taps, your space is reserved."
He added that the app charges your credit card directly and will then provide clear directions to the relevant parking space. Motorists will also get an email or text receipt.
This is one more reason to seriously consider a BMW next time you go car shopping.
