Expanded use of Audi Ultra technology
February saw Audi Ultra technology launched in the A6; now, the excellent news is that it is being expanded to include the A4 and A5 Saloon, Avant and Coupe variants.
With extremely low CO2 emission figures (109g/km), the three new TDI Ultra models have lower emission figures than the TDIe models across the range. Audi is taking orders now, at a price of £28,320, for delivery to customers towards the end of April.
The power unit for the new Ultra models is a totally new development that has been engineered to produce very lean burning and have no impact on the car's performance. It works in conjunction with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system that takes out the nitrogen oxide from the exhaust, thus maintaining a standard that is fully compatible with the Euro 6 emission standards.
Because of the high level of emission reduction that the three models offer, each is now categorised in band B for vehicle excise duty (CO2 related)
Ultra technology comes with the bonus of highly-competitive running costs for business owners and with benefit-in-kind liabilities of 17% for the A4 Avant and 16% for the A4 and A5 Coupe.
