Audi updates A6 and Avant ranges
The Avant and A6 ranges are to get some styling, lighting, infotainment and transmission revisions and will be available to order in September, with delivery expected later in the year. The Audi brand will continue to offer Ultra versions of the range, which means fuel economy of up to 64mpg.
Audi board member Ulrich Hackenberg said: "With the new Audi A6, we are writing the next chapter in an excellent success story. It represents innovative technology and Audi's premium claim. The Audi A6 sets new standards in many technical fields: the lightweight body containing many aluminium components, the powerful and highly-efficient engines, the sporty chassis, and the advanced assistance and multimedia systems."
Some changes have been made to the air inlets, single-frame grille, bumpers, side sills, back lights and tailpipes. Xenon headlights will now be standard for British A6 SE models, as will dynamic 'sweeping' back indicators in S line versions and above.
The line-up of engines for the A6 Avant and A6 in the UK comprises four TDIs of either four or six cylinders. The most efficient engine, which is the 2.00-litre TDI, will only be used in the Ultra versions of the Avant and Saloon. This engine gives high performance and excellent fuel economy, and CO2 output from a meagre 114g/Km. Even though this model has 18-inch alloys and sports styling, the A6 2.00-litre TDI ultra S line Saloon, with its S tronic transmission, provides the eco conscious company with great economy and emission statistics.
