Audi sees multi-sales records in the US
German luxury car manufacturer Audi has issued its June 2014 report for the US. The month saw the sale of 16,867 vehicles, which is an increase of 23.1% and an astonishing 42nd consecutive month of record sales. There is also good news for the second quarter of this year, with 49,121 cars sold.
The company sold 84,349 cars between January and June, which is an increase over last year of 13.6% and represents the best figure in the company's history in the US market. The executive vice-president and COO of Audi America, Mark Del Rosso, said: "In just six months this year, Audi has sold more vehicles in the US than it did over a full year as recently as 2009. The spring launch of the all-new A3 sedan is the latest building block for this achievement, along with the continued success of our sport-utility models and a strengthened presence in the top premium segments. Underpinning all of that is a steadfast commitment to elevate the Audi brand through a sustainable business model."
June sales continued to improve across the company's range and and year-on-year there were sales gains for the Q7, Q5, A8, A7, A6, A4 and A3.
The new Audi A3 Sedan had its best month in June, with 2,452 units sold. The month's results were also helped by the significant number of sales of luxury SUVs, especially the Q5 crossover with its 15.2% gain.
