Heather Thompson Joins AMT As Group Marketing Manager
In a move that strengthens our position as one of the leading independent providers of specialist automotive solutions, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Heather Thompson who has recently joined us as AMT Group Marketing Manager.
Previously, marketing manager at Imexpart limited - commercial vehicle parts specialists - Heather has almost 20 years' worth of marketing experience. At AMT she will head up a new internal marketing department and her time will be split looking after the AMT group companies: rental, contract hire & leasing and specialist car sales.
Her remit will be to formulate and execute comprehensive marketing plans, build brand awareness and help to build communication with corporate, personal and leisure customers.
Neil McGawley, managing director of AMT Group said: "We are delighted that Heather has joined us. She has a wealth of marketing knowledge and the expertise needed to help us drive forward with our ambitious
expansion plans." He continued "In 2015 we're focussing on growth and development and our plans are well underway.
A number of big changes have already happened. In March, we moved our head office to a new 50,000 square foot site in Leeds, this gives us the added opportunity to expand to our specialist retail sales facility and the much needed extra space for our increasing numbers of staff. Plus, we're shortly opening a seventh rental depot in Manchester. And, we're well on the way to relocating our Enfield and Bristol rental premises to larger more prestigious sites, which will further expand our nationwide coverage."
Heather comments: "I am delighted to join the team at AMT. This newly created position gives me a broad remit, aimed at driving growth; increasing sales performance and customer service. AMT are clearly a leading company when it comes to sourcing and supplying cars, I've a lot to learn, but I'm looking forward to the challenge." Heather began her career at NatWest Bank, where she honed her business management and customer service skills. Before moving to the Killgerm Group of companies - as marketing communications manager, where she looked after all aspects of the marketing mix, plus relationship management for rest of world sales.
